About this property

Located in vibrant coastal village of Brancaster, Mayes Cottage is a super detached cottage curated from traditional Norfolk brick and flint, with a complimenting brick extension. This hideaway is brimming full of character and offers contemporary, comfortable living by the coast.

Mayes Cottage has been tastefully decorated and has gorgeous flooring and furnishings throughout. The heart of the cottage is the dining kitchen which has a vaulted ceiling, limestone flooring, full length windows and french doors leading into the enclosed patio garden. This sociable space is not only made for cooking and eating but for relaxing and chatting too. The stone floors are stylish and convenient, but you may wish to bring indoor shoes during the cooler months. The dual aspect sitting room with beamed ceiling, is a lovely room with a modern but cosy appeal. An extra large L-shaped sofa, a super efficient Clearview wood burning stove and widescreen Smart television ensure you have all you need for a 'night in'. The cottage has three bedrooms (king, double and twin) over two floors and two shower rooms (one on each floor) which works well for families or friends who appreciate privacy, independence and ground floor facilities. Outside is a secluded south facing shingle courtyard with table and seating, as well as a sheltered loggia so you can even sit outside even when it rains!

Perfectly located, Mayes Cottage enjoys such easy access to the beautiful local beach and many great local eating places, you might not wish to venture too far afield. However, if you do, you can always catch the Coasthopper bus that regularly runs through the village all year round and will take you to all the other wonderful villages along this stunning coastline. This is an area popular with walkers, golfers, sailors, cyclists, paddle boarders, kayakers, birdwatchers and dog owners! If you like shopping, trendy Burnham Market is just a few minutes' drive away and, for beach lovers, make sure you visit both Holkham and Wells-next-the-Sea, which stretch out as far as the eye can see.

Our first stay here, and we loved it. So much so, we just booked for next year to escape the Leicester fireworks! Lovely cottage, clean, well equipped and great for our nervous dog.

Lovely little cottage. Very well equipped, and we were treated to lovely, sunny weather (except one day!) We visited Sandringham and walked to ground with Rosie. Very peaceful. Lovely walk up to the common and also around the marshlands. We went to Wells-Nest-The-Sea, which has hardly changed since we last visited. The wine, etc, were very welcome gifts. We could have stayed another week as we enjoyed the area but we're now off to another part of Norfolk.

Such a lovely weekend at Mayes cottage with really lovely weather, and great company. The house is so well equipped with really good amenities. Really lovely walk to the beach. We all really enjoyed exploring the area by walking and running around it. Thank you so much. We would love to come again.
