The market town of Melton Mowbray, home of the famous pork pie, is just over 5 miles where you can find an array of shops, pubs, and restaurants.  A similar distance is Rutland’s bustling county town of Oakham.  Just beyond Oakham is Rutland Water where you can walk or cycle all around the reservoir, all 23 miles of it!
